I had to pull apart an old spinner for a couple of the components such as the clevis and a three barbed hook but the rest I had in store. The shell works quite easily. I used a belt sander for speed but it could equally be shaped with a file, sandpaper or even a rough stone. The hole was drilled and then enlarged with an awl and the beads are mostly glass to give it a bit of weight apart from the green ones which are luminous plastic.
A nice little project for a dull day and I have lots more shells to experiment with but I want to find a better source for the bits I need than pulling apart old fishing tackle. I’ll post a few more up as I make them and let you know how they fare. |
